View of the Hilton Hawaiian Village on Waikiki Beach during the Friday Night Fireworks!!
It’s only been seven years, but back in 2007 the San Francisco Giants hosted Major League Baseballs All-Star Game. I can’t believe it’s been that long. If you go to AT&T Park and have a seat on the Club Level they have a huge display of memorabilia ranging from bubbleheads to World Series trophies next time you’re at the park get a ticket for that section and check it out.
Dave Niehaus, the voice of the Seattle Mariners from the beginning starting with their first game on April 6, 1977. He called 5,284 over 34 years for the Mariners until his passing in 2010. He had the very classic quote on all Mariners Home Runs “Break out the rye bread grandma it’s a Grand Salami !”
May the Fourth Be With You
May fourth is a special day in Star Wars World it’s the unofficial holiday for all things Star Wars. On that day at Disney’s Hollywood Studios they were selling this awesome Darth Vader Cupcake. Yum Yum Yum.
Pete’s Dragon from Disney’s Magic Kingdom’s Electric Parade. I loved this movie as a kid, and it was just cool to see that it had not been forgotten with the dearth of parade time devoted to princesses and pirates.
I had a great visit to Seattle this week. I got to visit two old friends one I haven’t seen in over 20 years. It was a good work week, but the best part of the trip was going to Safeco Field and watching the Mariners take down the Tampa Bay Rays 12-4. Wow what a game. This metal sculpture is outside the left field entrance and is a neat homage to the old 20’s style gloves.
This week we’re at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, and are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The review is forthcoming, but I had to post a Photo of the Week, featuring one of the many giraffe’s. They are so so beautiful, and in this photo this guy is lounging around like a puppy. They are just amazing creatures.
My buddy Duane Kuiper and I hanging out at AT&T Park in San Francisco last night. He maybe in a Cleveland uniform but he will always be a Giant.
Photo of the Week: Is courtesy of Yountville, California. Last weekend we had a lovely dinner at Bouchon. Across the street from the establishment, there’s a boutique shopping center and several restaurants, including Napa Style. On the outside of the center was this beautiful Wisteria plant, which makes me jealous since ours after eight years still has not bloomed once.
